Magnetic Imaging Under High Pressure

Materials under high-pressure exhibit exotic phases of matter, with exciting avenues such as superconductivity with record high-Tc, or new quantum phases such as the predicted metal hydrogen. However, accessing physical parameters related to these properties remains an important challenge due to the compactness of the diamond anvil cell which is used to reach pressure that can exceed hundreds of GPa.
We aim at using our expertise on NV centres in diamond as a sensitive magnetometer to address these questions.
