    Rotation rate measurement with resonant hollow core fiber otpic gyroscope

    Résumé : A resonant fiber optic gyroscope (R-FOG) is a device that measure rotation rate by the mean of the Sagnac effect. Contrary to I-FOG (interferometric fiber optic gyroscope) R-FOG only needs a few tens of meter of fiber (IFOG needs at least 2 km) but they are not commercially available devices because of 2 noises sources that prevent slow rotation measurement : backscattering and Kerr effect. Those 2 noises sources are theoretically reduced in hollow core
    fiber which is why I studied hollow core fiber based R-FOG and I’m going to present my results in terms of noise measurement and rotation rate measurement.
